I still often see product photos shot against a simple white background. There’s no life, no emotion—just an object placed in a studio, captured with technical precision.
But the era of plain white-background images for quality products is over (I make exceptions myself sometimes, but always for a reason). Today, product photography needs to be creative and versatile. A photo series should be designed to actually sell the product, appeal to a discerning audience, and go far beyond the idea of just “getting the pictures done” quickly.
